Rewarded interstitial ads are a hybrid ad format that combines the full-screen nature of interstitial ads with the incentive-based appeal of rewarded ads.
A rewarded interstitial ad is a full-screen ad (often video) that users can choose to watch voluntarily in exchange for a reward, such as:
- In-game currency
- Extra lives
- Bonus content
- Unlocking a feature
Unlike standard rewarded ads, which are usually triggered from a button (“Watch Ad to Get 50 Coins”), rewarded interstitials appear at natural transition points in the app—like after a game level or between content screens—and give users the option to watch the ad to earn a reward before proceeding.
